The Blackhill Dorset Flock has achieved the highest health status, being M.V. accredited and scrapie monitored negative.
For over 15 years the flock has been MLC recorded and is a member of Centurion Sire Reference Group. Scrapie resistant rams have been used for the last six years and currently only ARR/ARR (R1) & ARR/ARQ (R3) genotyped ewes and ARR/ARR (R1) rams are used for the production of scrapie resistant breeding stock.
The quality of the surplus lambs has been recognised by Waitrose Supermarkets, with the Blackhill flock being one of the original suppliers of Dorset Farmhouse Lamb and has been used by Waitrose in magazine and T.V. advertising.
Rams and Ram lambs, Ewes and Ewe lambs are available for sale throughout the year.
